Sunflower in Winter

All of that cheerful exhuberance covered in ice. Still, there is beauty in the shimmering icicles hanging from the bowed head of this once bright yellow flower. I find myself missing last year’s ice and snow just a hair as I look at this photo from January 2007.

However, at the same time, it is awfully nice to wander outside and stroll around through the chilly garden without slipping on ice.
