Night Sounds in the Garden
If you’re anything like me, you love to sit on the porch with a good book and a cup of tea in the evening and enjoy the night sounds. Frogs cheeping, water running, mosquitoes buzzing-ok, maybe not the last one, but I rarely have bugs on the porch. I adore that old red cedar tree planted smack in front of the porch even if it is in a horrible spot, too big to be so close to the house and a bit on the homely side because it acts as a natural bug repellent.
Anyway, back to sounds in the garden: I also like to listen to the music of the Wind Chimes hanging on the porch. (In fact, I like them so much that I have a set of them on both porches.) On late summer nights, it is always a very soft and gentle sound, but when a storm is coming, they seem to become a part of it. If you don’t have any wind chimes, I recommend adding a set to your garden. You can get ones with a high, tinkling sound or a deeper, mellow sound.
